California

WAY Back in December we flew to California to spend some with the grandparents Barb and Stan. They live in Palm Desert in a beautiful golf course community.

Stan's Rolls Royce golf cart...

The view from their home. They are right on one of the greens and you can see the mountains off in the distance. The next 4 pics were taken right in their backyard.

We went to the Living Desert Zoo. It was very cool to see giraffes running around.
The zoo had a huge model train exhibit...

We went to a desert reserve just a few miles from Barb and Stan's.

We sent a half a day at Joshua Tree National Park. The rest of the pics were taken at Joshua Tree. It would have been nice to spend more time here. There was so much to see.

The Joshua Tree. It actually isn't a tree at all. It is a giant member of the Lily family. It is an amazing plant. It survives temperatures higher than 110 degrees in the summer and temps well below freezing in the winter and it only receives about 4 inches of precipitation each year.
